Tool Chest Oddity

I'm not sure how to ask or search for this… so new post.

I have a handful of custom tool chests that I share with other users at my company. We use Bluebeam almost exclusively for markups and measuring, and I have created a bunch of tool chests with image inserts.

I have a Camera symbol in one chest that keeps copying itself out to other tool chests, REPLACING the first tool in these other chests. It doesn't happen immediately, but I'll reload my tools from Studio (to fix) and after a few days, it does it again.

Any ideas? I'm kind of wondering if there's something wrong with the camera icon or if the whole chest is somehow corrupt. In the picture below, we use different color data drops (1,2 or 4 cable drops). Data 1 was replaced by the camera.

Pretty common. Always the first tool and usually has attributes of some other tools in the box. I've used programs for construction estimating since the mid eighties and never used a program with a seemingly un-correctable flaw.

I’ve seen something similar, and I’d suspect the Tool Chest/BTX data rather than the camera image itself.

Since the Camera markup is actually replacing the first tool in another chest, I’d try removing that Camera tool and recreating it from scratch in a new Tool Chest. Then export the new chest as a fresh ".btx" and replace the shared version in Studio.

I’d also check whether everyone is adding the shared tool set rather than importing separate local copies. If the issue keeps coming back after a clean rebuild, I’d send the affected ".btx" files to Bluebeam Support they may be able to identify corruption or a synchronization issue.

The fact that it happens after a few days and repeatedly replaces the same position is the biggest clue here.
