@Josh Gebelein You can actually do this already! Just add the Page Number to your Full Screen Toolbar and you're set. No need to wait on a feature request for this one.
Right click the toolbar while in full screen mode (or go through the toolbar customization option) and add the Page Number item.
That makes the toolbar unreasonably wide, blocking the view and defeating the point of a fullscreen view. Just showing (X of XXX) does not need to take up that much space, it should be fixed.
