what is the most efficient way to mark and count objects in a blue print. In my case I might be counting ceiling vents or fan coil units. I would need to mark them all the same but would need to be able to total their Quantity on the spreadsheet.
Zoom in on what you are looking for and press Ctr+F (Find). The search panel opens. Click on Visual (second button in the panel header), press the button to select a rectangle, and press Search. There's a slider to adjust the sensitivity of the visual search. After you found most of it check manually if you missed any.
This is a very powerful option in Bluebeam Revu and overlooked by many experienced users.
@Albert Gallucci The "count" measurement tool accomplish this. Visual search as @Siem Eikelenboom mentioned above will also work. But if you're trying to have totals added to a spreadsheet you may want to look into "Quantity Link" between Revu & Excel.
"I'd recommend using the Count Tool with a custom Tool Chest symbol for each item type (ceiling vents, FCUs, diffusers, etc.).
Each click places a markup and automatically increments the count. The best part is that all quantities are tracked in the Markups List, and you can easily export them to Excel for your take-off summary.
For larger projects, setting up separate count tools with different subjects or labels makes filtering and reporting much easier later on."

i have a follow-up question If I am using the contractor counting tool. I check three items and then hit escape. These items are added to the markups list. If I want to go back and delete just one of these items what do I do? I tried highlighting it and then deleting, but that deletes all three. Is there a way around that?

If those three counts were created as a single markup, deleting one will remove the entire group. A workaround is to right-click the count markup and choose Split Count (if available in your version of Revu). That separates the individual count points so you can select and delete just the one you don't need. If your version doesn't have Split Count, the only option is usually to undo and recount, or edit the count by removing individual points while the markup is still active.
If you have a large count group, and need to delete multiple items, click on them while holding the Shift key. Notice they turn yellow. Then do step 2 and the selected items will be deleted from the group.
