I have an old 24 x 36 architectural drawing that has both the upper and lower floor plans on one page. Is there a way to split them so I can overlay them?

Great advice Doug, many thanks
I would take a snapshot of each of the areas and paste it to new separate pages. Then flatten the snapshots so they becomes PDF content.
Now you should be able to overlay them.
