I have an excel template I use for take-offs. While on the spreadsheet, when I set the source file to the drawing, there is a very small chance that it successfully links.
Usually, I have to set the source file, nothing happens, so I then set up a new quantity link. When i setup a new link, all the other quantity links populate. Sometimes when i do that though, only some of the links populate. Eventually all the links fill out (RISKY).
On my current project, i have removed and added the source file multiple times. I have set up new quantity links, and these new links work and adjust in sync with the drawing. But the other links will not sync.
To increase the chance of establishing a link, I have learned to not remove and add a source file all at once. It helps to remove the old source file and hit "ok". Then open the source file back up and find the file i need.
Are there any other tips or tricks to get these links to work? This template has worked many of times before today. All the links are still in my template (i am able to edit the quantity link in the cell, not create). But they still wont sync. I have 100+ quantity links, are we limited to the amount of quantity links?
