PDF content disappeared overnight

This morning one of my coworkers opened a file that he has been performing a material takeoff in to find the original PDF content missing. All of his markups are present, but the background PDF content is not visible. He is running Revu 21.8

I opened the file on my machine (Running Revu 21.6) and have the same issue.

I opened an original copy of the file as received from our client with no issues.

We are both able to open other files without any issues.

I confirmed all layers are turned on.

Dimming is turned off.

Turning to the broader Bluebeam Community to see if anyone has seen this before.

We expect to be able to copy the markups from the at issue file and paste them onto a clean copy so not all is lost - but that will take some time.

Any suggestions?

@David Cutler, hopefully this has already been resolved. Just curious, did you ever figure out what caused the issue?

As for saving time on the recovery, instead of copying and pasting the markups, I would try exporting the markups from the affected file and then importing them into a clean copy of the drawings. That is usually faster and helps avoid missing anything.

Good morning @Shaya Birnbaum. I haven't been able to figure out what happened to the PDF linework. I've moved on an hopefully the issue doesn't pop up again…

Our solution was exactly as you described - export the markups and then import them into a clean copy of the file. Great minds think alike! 😎
