Need help with my cursor and measuring tools. My cursor will only go in a straight line in the measuring tool I am unable to follow a radius or use the measuring tool correctly, it will not follow the cursor but only go in straight lines.
Since it's happening when you use the measure tool, try looking at this…

Check out this other thread @Ross at Perfect Turf. Should answer your question:
Thank you. But that is not the issue. I have been using bluebeam for 10+ years. The problem is that I cannot mark points with my cursor. The cursor goes in straight lines (only) and at only at 30degree increments. I cannot follow a radius with my cursor, as it only goes in 30degree tangents. Not sure what has happened. I do not want to delete and try and reinstall bluebeam.
Sorry that I misunderstood the issue @Ross at Perfect Turf! That sounds very frustrating. Perhaps you accidentally turned on "snap to grid"?
If it is "snap to…", you will see one of these icons lit up.
You may have a large grid or be zoomed in close if it's not jumping above and below the horizontal orientation.
Thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately not "snap to grid." So frustrating I may as well shut down, but it's not going to go away because that is what I did Friday.
Sounds like it time to call the @Bluebeam Support Team in @Ross at Perfect Turf. Sorry we couldn't help…
It sounds like a locked Shift key or something.
Luke,
thank you. that was it, I somehow clicked snap orthogonal. Not idea when, how or why.
But thank you!!
Thank you for posting that link @Luke Shiras! I don't think I had come across that settings option before. Good to know! 😎
That's one of the things I like about this community. I vaguely remember that tool, but trying to solve Ross's issue led me back to that setting. I learn so much about Bluebeam just by looking for answers to other people's questions.
