More Flexibility with Custom Lines

I would like the ability to create one line style that has multiple parallel lines, each being a different color.

Having the ability to select the colors in the customization window is a different approach, but it would be a great place to embed standards that users cannot override in the properties.

I would also like to make different parts of my custom Vector lines have specific colors. Several colors in the same line sketch,

so I can have a dashed line that alternates black-pink-black-pink

Perhaps this could be added to the custom line types @Troy DeGroot? Would be similar to how you can change the font size, but would be for color of the dashes… Would be interesting to see how it played with the line color settings in the properties though… 😎

If I could create custom lines like these, I would have full expectation that we would not be able to change the colors in the properties. Because these lines are created deeper in the program, I would expect the color on the properties to be locked and not editable.

That makes sense @Troy DeGroot. Would be similar to the way you cannot change the font size for the text block in a custom linetype - unless you go deep into the setup… 😎

So, as @Troy DeGroot knows, I like a good challenge. This is what I came up with:

It's far from perfect, but it shows what is possible with a bit of creativity…

What I came up with is a series of custom line types that can be applied to copies of the same markup.

Dash, Space

Space, Dash

Dash, Space with offset

Space, Dash with offset

The “Dash first” lines share a common color, the “Space first” lines do the same.

It’s clumsy, slow and I haven’t tried it with a curve, but it “works”.
