The idea would be that each window that's split of the main window would have a page navigation area or the option to open one on that split of window.
It would be convenient to have some page buttons adjacent to the splits. I hope this could be implemented in a style that is translucent and "hovers" in the view, to avoid adding a thick bar separating the splits.
