Why did the "Length Measurement" tool break?

I get this weird football goalpost-looking line when trying to find a length. Also, for smaller measurements, when I zoom in, the length value disappears. It only appears AFTER i click the 2nd point. I then have to zoom out, guess what the appropriate length is, and adjust it time and time again until I get it correct. Please help me to get my old version back, whether Bluebeam fixes the bug, shows me how to "customize" it back the way it was, or send a patch that "Undoes" the most recent "Update".
