Can you set a default path for the Load Config file? That would save some time.
Not sure this is possible because once its saved, it will save a chosen path. What I do is choose the path before I save the BatchConfig file, that way it comes back.
I agree it would be nice though.
I want to clarify that I'm not talking about the "Export to" path. I'm talking about making a default Batch Config file.
oh absolutely, and you can do it.
For all of our Estimates, we have a default BatchConfig file saved to our Estimating Template folder. It has all the various columns we need exported pre determined. It even has a specific name attached. You're going to create it how you like, then Save it for reuse. The only thing we need to do is change the filepath to where it will save the export summary. I'll be talking about this a little at Unbound as part of my Breakout Session.
I have to click the Load Config button every time to select my default BatchConfig file. Is that what you do?
yup, unfortunately, that is part of the process. Even if you were to create a macro, you'd still have to execute that macro.
One day I hope to be able to grab the metadata direct from the PDF with Power Query. That would cut out these steps.
