Create page label from first # of characters of bookmark

I like to have the bookmarks be the [Sheet number] - [Sheet name] format. However, I like the page label being just the [Sheet number]. It would be great if I could create page labels from the bookmark first number of characters or up until a space or dash. Currently I get around this by creating the page label from a region on the drawing sheet, and then creating the bookmarks from either a combination of multiple page regions or in the stapler combine process by picking up the filename in the combine process. I wish the Bluebeam stapler had an options dialog for formatting the bookmarks and page labels at the point of combing in the Bluebeam stapler. Why isn't there a "stapler" tag in on the discussion boards?

There are some options when you combine inside Bluebeam, but why isn't this in the stapler? Also, the pages and abilities to set range in the stapler would be nice. Or even just a report or count of pages in the combine via the stapler dialog.
