Build connections with Bluebeamers around the world, discover what’s new, and make your voice heard.
I recently synced my work OneDrive account with Bluebeam Cloud and I'm trying to figure out the benefits or the reasons for doing so. I'm new to using the Cloud option but does it makes sense to store documents and have OneDrive access all under one roof? I just realized that there is unlimited document storage on the Cloud so maybe I should start using it more. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas on how they use the Cloud and possibly integrating with other apps I'd love to hear about it.
While I am not using Bluebeam Cloud, my approach with One Drive may shed some light or give ideas for your practice on there.
I have a folder for every project on my One Drive called "*** - detach" where I keep the latest contract documents for reference, personal markups, and other files that are not necessarily for the record and stored in our project folder. I archive old detached project folders there as well. These do not mirror our network project folders; they are only a place to store personal and reference copy documents related to the projects.
As you know, having files and folders on One Drive allows syncing to any computer where the Microsoft account is installed, or wherever logging in through the web interface. This comes in handy to get the job done wherever working — Home office, office, or remote on a job site.
Making sure the project server is up to date is priority one, so I am careful to only use One Drive sort of like an FTP site for remote work and, as the folder names state, detached work that does not need to be saved on our project server.
You are giving me some ideas, thanks Jes. I appreciate the info.
