Allow Conversion Between Markup Types

This has come up before, but I haven’t been able to locate the previous posts. I’d really like the ability to convert one markup type to another.

For example, if I draw a standard line, I can’t add control points like I could with a polyline. The only option is to redraw it as a polyline from scratch.

The same applies to converting a rectangle to a polygon, a Cloud to a Cloud+, or a polygon to an area measurement etc., etc., etc. You get the idea.

Being able to substitute or convert markup types would save time and reduce duplication.

Yeah, I've seen something like this brought up before. I imagine someone will eventually merge the topics, but in the meantime, I wanna just say I would greatly appreciate this change. I don't usually need it, but I know it would make life a lot easier for many of my coworkers.

I appreciate your comment @bcostlow. It really hits home for me. Especially when I’ve spent time creating a detailed area measurement, only to realize I used the Polygon tool instead of the Area tool and had to redraw the entire thing from scratch (this may or may not have happened to me yesterday…).

That said, it's worth noting that we do have the ability to use Spaces and generate Area measurements from them, which can help in certain scenarios.
