More Options for 3D file types for 3D PDF creation or plugin for SketchUp
Hello Bluebeam,
I'm looking to incorporate 3D models into a PDF report. The models are usually created from simple LiDAR scans using an iPhone and apps such as "Polycam" and "3D Scanner App" which typically export to .OBJ .GLB .FBX etc…
I can't find any work arounds to get this into a .U3D file to use in a 3D PDF. I've tried opening the OBJ in SketchUp, then Exporting to Revit, then Using the Bluebeam Plugin for Revit to export to U3D. but the colour information of the model is lost between SketchUp and Revit.
is there a possibility for further file type support when creating 3D PDfs? i.e. being able to use an .OBJ filetype?
I've seen there is a plugin for SketchUp on older versions of both SketchUp and Revu. I have never used these so unsure if there was an ability to export from SketchUp straight to .U3D?
So maybe there is a possibility for a new updated plugin that would allow that?
Kind regards,
Charlie
