As an architect, we use the perimeter command to illustrate maximum travel distances. The dimension command allows us to click on the distance (number) and type in a new number and the dimension automatically adjusts. We need the ability to do the same with perimeter. Right now, if I have a maximum travel distance of 300’, I have to manually draw the perimeter and get as close to 300’ as I can and then zoom in and attempt to move the end of the perimeter so that the distance reads 300 ft. Today, sometimes this works OK, but most of the time I get 300.01 ft, or 299.97 ft. We simply need to be able to fix the length so that the city staff doesn’t flag 300.01 ft as a code violation. Below is an example as to when it does work, and when it doesn't.
