Hello,
I have contacted Bluebeam Revu support, because PDF/A-2B or higher format files are incorrectly validated as "non-compliant" when they contain transparency/opacity and other items. The support replied that at the moment, only PDF/A-1B is supported and that the validatin is always done to PDF/A-1, no matter that Revu correctly identifies the version as PDF/A-2B or 3B (ref:!00D1N02ZvcL.!500Uj0UWLrI:ref). They told me to put a feedback here and suggestion for a feature.
I find it really crucial for Revu to be able to identify compliance of PDF/A-2 or higher and export into these. Many governmental documents must be in PDF/A-2B (i.e. New Zealand) or PDF/A-3B (Czech Republic) by law, including i.e. construction documentation for building consent.
Please, provide a function to verify PDF/A compliance to the correct standard to which the PDF claims compliance (i.e. PDF/A-2B, PDF/A-3B, PDF/A4,…). It should not be that hard as these actually allow more items than old PDF/A-1. If you do not implement this function, please at least add a warning message that the validation is done against PDF/A-1B requirements, which differs from the PDF/A version of the file. The current setup is very misleading.
Thank you.
