Overall Goal: To be able to QC panelboard schedules easier.
Problem: Knowing where the panel schedule is for a Distribution Panel (DP) that is feeding a panel ("Supply From:" below) requires knowledge of the panel schedule layouts on the sheets. This wastes time and brainpower trying to find the correct sheet, and then finding the correct schedule on said sheet.
For Example: We have project with a 20 story building, where the schedule sheets are separated by floor, but also by Emergency/Optional Standby status. (So if the 1st floor has only one 208V emergency panelboard and one 208V normal panelboard, it would still require two sheets.) To find the Distribution Panel that feeds a given panel, one has to wade through several sheets to find the source DP schedule.
Solution: Having links between panelboard schedules.
Implementation: Make it easier to make "Places." Currently all Places are made manually, a function similar to how bookmarks can be made by looking at a Region and just taking the text from that to name the bookmark. A logical next step would be to automatically add a hyperlink from other instances to this place.
I did this manually for the panelboards below: I made named places for each panelboard. Then I linked instances of the smaller words to those places, links are underlined in blue. So, P-P-2.1 is fed from P-P-1.1, which is fed from SD-P-B.1, which is fed from MD-P-B.1 A. Then there are links to the loads so one can go back and forth by clicking on the links.
