HI BB team,
Is there any way we can delete or hide the "comment" column in BB's tool chest. It is not used in our company and takes up needed space when taking off the plans.
MDT, I hear what you are saying, but I have never found a way to hide it. But let's dig a little deeper into what you are trying to do or could possibly do. It is easy to Hide the Comments column in the Toolset by simply dragging the grip across to provide more display area real estate or drag the Comments column closer to the display area. But that then hides the Lable column. I assume you have a need for the Lable column.
If you do not need a Label, that is a simple fix to give the Subject more space and fewer Comments information, but not removed.
Now, let's dig into why you are not using the Comments column. I come from a CAD Management background, so if I can communicate easily with end-users without walking over or jumping on Teams, I will take advantage of that function. In Toolsets, I use the Comments column to describe how to use the Markup in the Toolset. Does everyone read it, It's probably not, but it's there and reduced the number of times they asked me, 'How does this work.'
Good luck with your Toolset.
Good morning, since this issue shows up in multiple posts and I agree with them I would like to add further explanation below.
When performing a take off you want to maximize the plan sheet space you are viewing. Currently if you drag the "grip" to narrow the tool chest display area it slides the comment and label columns with it until they reach their minimum width and then it starts to overlap the subject area leaving your subject area to only +/- 8-12 characters. Then if you go to expand the grip to reveal more characters it first unveils the comment and label columns and by the time the subject column grows in width you've now lost a good section of your entire screen. The two fixes would be 1. ability to hide columns 2. when you drag the grip have it start to cover the label comment columns immediately.
Agreed! Thanks for detailing this issue. the comment column takes up so much real-estate and its pretty much useless.
Actually, I take that back, well at least some of it. I just checked and you can now HIDE the Comment section.
and just slide the column over, and now its GONE:
I also see that you can pretty much hide all columns you want, so this issue is FIXED!
I'm at the latest update, my columns do not collapse as far as you're showing
This remains the narrowest in my case…
I see there was an update 6/6/25, but it seems it is not applied to older versions. I cannot fully hide the column and it is very frustrating to repeatedly minimize as much as I can every time I open tools.
Hello, Is it possible to have Bluebeam Studio automatically sync all studio files to a local server in lieu of Bluebeam's cloud servers? My office is exploring the idea of getting all of my project observers an iPad with cellular data so that they can have Bluebeam Studio (or rather Bluebeam Cloud) at all times. Should…
Hi, we mainly use Revu 21 to edit pdfs and save in PDF/A format. We need pdf documents in PDF/A-2b format. Is it possible to convert a pdf to pdf/A-2b format? please explain how to do it? thanks Oliver
Our IT department has been slowly upgrading our users to Windows 11. A few of our users have been experiencing really bad lag with creating, moving, modifying markups. This happens both in Session and with locally saved files. It seems to only be happening to our users with virtual/cloud computers. Specifically, we use…
What is up with the invisible text while editing a markup? This has been a recurring and persistent phenomenon that has remained through several updates of the BB subscription, over perhaps the last year. I create a markup with text, I double-click to edit said text and it becomes INVISIBLE (but is still there). I click…
Hi All, I accidentally added a layer at the end of the long list of existing layers. Has anyone found a way to reorder the layer list? I would also like to hide one of the layers I created by default and open it only when I need it. Is this possible? Thank you ahead, Ian
Here is my issue folks - clicking on a web link in a document does not open in the default browser, but in one of my other installed browsers. This behavior is experienced only with Bluebeam and one Trimble software, the rest of my installed applications obey my default browser setting. Has anyone encountered such issue…
I have recently upgraded to Revu 21 but the markup tools are greyed out so i am unable to use them. Does anyone have any ideas why this would be?
I used to know I two-key keyboard shortcut to re-size a cloud mark-up to more closely fit the text block it surrounds. I have forgotten it and can't find any information on it online. Can anyone help? Thanks
I'm trying to create a form that requires both signatures and initials. However, I can't seem to find a way to format the field for just initials. Is there a better way to do this other than using a text box?
