(Custom) shortcut for checkmarks

I really fancy using checkmarks while working as an easy way to cross off my progress while incorporating comments from my colleageus and it's rather cumbersome having to right click and navigate to the checkmark every time.
I'd love a shortcut, and even more so the ability to customize my own shortcut for this.

I don't have an answer, but have you considered using Statuses? There are shortcuts for changing the status of a markup (Revu 21), and if you set statuses to change color, you'll get the same benefit as checking them off.
