Add Folders for Studio Sessions!
Add folders for studio sessions to organize the list of recent Studio sessions. Some of our clients utilize one Studio session per deliverable on large projects that have multiple reviewers. It can be quite a task to find the one studio session for a smaller project amidst the rows and rows of studio sessions per deliverable from the larger project. Folders in Bluebeam studio would also be appreciated by people who prefer to organize their Studio sessions by the projects they are working on, rather than the "last used" list currently implemented. The current "Project" functionality appears (to my knowledge) to only be a file-sharing utility and currently there is no ability to load multiple Studio sessions into a Project.
A 'READ ALOUD' Transcription Feature
I open and review a lot of legal contracts using Bluebeam. It would be nice to have an option to have an audio playback feature, like on Word, that identifies and reads the text for those that are visually impaired.
Shortcut Key to call last tool/last command
Hello there ! Most software used by designers (Autocad, Rhino etc) have a last command shortcut.
Spacebar by default for Autocad for example.
Process: Use a command, do something else (move around, switch to another software etc), press the shortcut for last command, get back to what you were doing
That would be really appreciated for Bluebeam to implement something like that. Imagine how much time we would save.
Thank you
Add option to "pin" fonts in the font list
My work computer has hundreds of fonts that I don't use, and my company has 2 standard fonts that are not in the default pinned list. It would be super convenient to be able to change or add to the fonts in the list at the top, since I only ever use 1/5 of those fonts.
"Detached View" Sync for MultiView
In some of our users' workflows, it would be useful for some documents to be able to have an additional option for MultiView synchronization to essentially allow the views to be independent/free to move within a page, but synchronize moving between pages.
Currently, both Document and Page sync will keep either the exact page index or relative page index synchronized (respectively), but also updates changes to views' positions on the page(s) in question. Perhaps this could be a separate, persistent checkbox/setting for the Sync Views toggles? The best idea for a name is something like "Detached Sync" or "Allow Independent Views within Sync"
The current workaround is to leave document views independent and then manually change the pages (e.g. using PG Up/Down) for each view. The downside being that this is manual, and for page reloads this delays the reload until the user manually changes the view for that specific view. For some of our users' workflows with large page sizes with smaller elements, this can become cumbersome to use multiple split views.
Alternatively, being able to "freeze" a view's focus (e.g. left-right position for a vertical split or top-bottom position for a horizontal split) would still accomplish some of this desired workflow, in case that is helpful. In my head it seems similar to how this can work with a table/spreadsheet in Excel, for instance.
I see this being helpful especially for field access to certain types of drawings, where it could be useful to keep a label/axis/scale in view while manipulating a zoomed-in view elsewhere on the document page.
Editable Table
I'd like to create/insert a table into Bluebeam Revu that I can edit like any other markup.
Re: 📅 October 2024 Challenge – Shortcuts!
I set up my left hand to be my most common shortcut needs with how I remember them.

Feature Highlight: Rotating Measurement Captions
This week, we'll be highlighting the Rotating Measurement Captions feature in Bluebeam!
It's a simple, yet mighty feature that allows a user to rotate Measurement captions.
Here's how:
- Select the measurement markup whose caption is to be rotated.
- Click the anchor point and drag it to the desired angle. Notice that the adjusted angle is automatically shown to make precise rotations easier.
- By default, captions are rotated in 15° increments. Hold down SHIFT while rotating a caption to rotate it 1° at a time.
- For measurements where the default caption can be on an angle (Perimeter, Diameter, or Radius), or for measurements that are themselves rotated, captions are rotated in relation to the page, not the default position. This allows for setting the rotation horizontal or vertical to the page more easily.
To return a rotated caption to its original, default position, right-click the measurement and select Reset Caption Position.

Re: 📢 What's New: Revu 21.3
I had to rock the old-school blueprints. I saw someone do this and had to steal.
Locked File Issues? Me Too!
Have you ever opened a file and tried to do some annotations and takeoff and it was locked with no permissions for the viewer? Are you unable to even print it to a .pdf or affect any change to it?
Boooooo! Me Too. Looking for a workaround?
I Found One! Aaaannnd, You're welcome. — If you have a other workaround, please share in the comments.—
It’s so simple I can’t believe I didn’t try it earlier. Stripping the file of its security, changing permissions or trying to get a password was seemingly pointless, so I figured….. how about I open it in different ways and see if any other systems have print options that bypass the locked nature of the document, and Chrome was the answer.
After I saved the documents in a file locally, I Right clicked on the document in “File Explorer” and selected “Open With” and chose Chrome. Which opens it with a crazy file path, relative to where it's saved…. Then I clicked Print” and printed it with the Destination of “Save as PDF” Note: Do not use Bluebeam PDF the problem will persist.
After opening the newly printed file again in REVU® it is unlocked and all security properties listed are allowed. BAM!
Essentially there are no Security measures whatsoever after following this workflow. KA-POW!
I’m sure this would be the case in all other forms of PDF document control weather its REVU® or any other .pdf viewer.
Please share this with everyone you can because as I understand it, this is a VERY common issue, and I have faced it myself many times before, only to end up printing it to 11X17 paper, scanning and rescaling it, running OCR Mod, re-doing all the bookmarks and hyperlinks - Bla Bla Bla…. It may not work in every case, but it does for this one.
I love solving problems with outside the box thinking and it really saved my butt this time because I need to get all that bridge steel taken off by the end of the week. Yikes!
Special thanks to Ashley Cox and Ryan Arbuckle who are the Trainers I met at the Studio Essentials Course today. without them helping me look at this in several different perspectives, and going through the steps that we did, I probably wouldn’t have dreamt up this workaround.
Cheers!
