Re: 🗓️ December 2024 Challenge - Year-End Workflow & Tool Tips!
If it's opened in Bluebeam: SHIFT + G
If it's on the web or wherever: SHIFT + WIN + S
Then paste to a PDF and choose add to tool chest. Pretty much everything can be turned to a tool. :)
Pro tip! If you paste it to the PDF, choose insert, then copy and repeat the process you might even get rid of that white background if you copied an object that had a white background.
Re: Autosize text box should account for text alignment
I forgot to circle back, but this was addressed in Revu 21.3!
Rounded Rectangles
I use this software for quick sketches to send to clients frequently and wish more than anything that there was an option for rounded rectangles! It would be super useful for diagramming.
Search for multiple keywords with one search
I want to search multiple keywords without doing multiple single word searches. Like if I am trying to find relevant electrical data in other trade documents, so I have to search "electric" "power" "light" "luminaire" "current" "circuit".
Adding Boolean search options would be a welcome feature in document searching, as it is with the markup list search feature.
Re: Auto Save
I would look at how AutoCAD implements autosave files. It saves a backup file to a designated folder on your computer in addition to the original file with each autosave. You can then get the backup file when(not if) you need it. Maybe you could have the autosave to a backup file and not overwrite the original. Would that save the undo feature?
Either way i would like the option to autosave somehow. I am sure it would have saved me 10s and 10s of hours of rework over the years. You can have the option to set the interval to 30 minute or an hour or a 7pm every day so it captures when you leave the computer for a long time. This world reduce the impact on the undo feature. MY main issue is files that have been open for hours and i get sidetracked somehow and don't get right back to it.
i have also lost work to windows updates and closing a file by accident without saving.
The lack of autosave is my one real issue with Bluebeam.
Thanks
Re: Auto Save
Agree, with auto save. I believe the auto recovery currently only works if using "studio" in the meantime use a auto save software like "auotsaver" easy to adjust how often it hits "CTRL S"
@Sondra.Camis If you have a lot of docs open you can also periodically select the "save all" or "Shift F2" option to save all open files.
Layer quick access toolbar with dropdown list, AutoCAD style
As a long-time user of both Bluebeam and AutoCAD, I'd like to propose a feature that would significantly enhance layer management workflow: a dedicated layer toolbar with a dropdown list, similar to AutoCAD's implementation.
Layers are crucial to my workflow, both for markup organization and CSV export processes. While Bluebeam 21.3 has vastly improved layer stability compared to version 20, accessing and modifying layer assignments still requires more clicks than necessary.
The proposed toolbar would:
• Display the current layer of selected markups
• Provide a dropdown list for quick layer reassignment
• Streamline the markup organization process
• Reduce the number of clicks needed for layer management
This AutoCAD-inspired feature would benefit users who heavily rely on layers for markup organization and data extraction.
Ideally, this would be implemented as a complete layer panel overhaul, eliminating redundant layer controls and featuring a horizontal toolbar placement similar to AutoCAD (classic).

Re: Legend to Excel
I did what you said, took a screen shot of your table, pasted the image then flattened it, exported the region to excel and got the above results. I also tried it without flattening and it just exported an image of the table, so maybe try to make sure your image is flattened first.
Also, if you just flatten your legend before exporting to excel it works the same…so no need to take the screen shot, just right-click and select 'flatten'.
Re: Legend to Excel
Thank you so much everyone for your help on this question. To summarize the process for future reference:
- Create/populate Legend
- Right click on Legend => Flatten
- File => Export => Excel Workbook => Page Region
- Select a region to capture the Flattened Legend
- Save the Excel file
