Good details to consider there @Shanoc Halliday . It reminds me of something else to potentially help with this operation… Sometimes it is necessary to SAVE AS the PDF in order to isolate markups that need to be transferred. If you filter markups then delete unwanted markups in a SAVED AS file, you can isolate the markups needed to work with rather than fighting with the markups list functionality limiting its own usefulness with the "clutter" of markups from other Authors.
Shrinking your pick area
Hello,
I find myself having to move entities out of the way when trying to select an item.
If I have a line and some text near each other and I try selecting the line I always get the text and I end of moving the text so I can pick the line then move the text back.
Is there an adjustment to the "pick area" that I can set to allow me to zoom in and pick the line?

Re: Exporting Nested Data from Grouped Markups
This is a solid idea and could definitely help on large takeoff jobs. But there’s a real issue with how Bluebeam would handle it. For example, let’s say I have a duplex receptacle made up of a circle and two lines. If I export that group and it breaks it down into “circle” and “lines,” the data becomes useless. I want to see “duplex receptacle,” not three random shapes.
Grouped markups are often used to represent a single object, not just for organizing. So unless there’s a way to flag or tag groups differently, exporting all nested data could backfire. That said, if Bluebeam added an option to choose between exporting grouped summaries or individual items, that’d be a useful middle ground.

VBA Add in
It would be awesome if there was a vba add in so that we could use vba macros to combine pdfs, without needing to save, open bluebeam and then combine files there.

Mmm… yeah, that could do it for me. I'll try using that as a way to confirm my markup completeness, the next time I do a takeoff, and see if it does anything for me. Thanks for the tip!

I love this community, because there are so many ideas I've had in the past that I always seem to forget about by the time I get a chance to say something. These are two things I've wished for since beginning my journey of becoming a Bluebeam user. "Pick line" would make such a big difference, and probably wouldn't be too hard to do with a little "AI" action. As for the hatch pattern… I think the line custom line patterns could use some upgrades too, but I'll leave that idea in the recommendation I saw on here a few weeks ago.

Funny story, when I tried to find an answer, I discovered that my "email PDF" tool no longer worked. My IT guy is looking into it but if anyone has any suggestions, we're all ears.We ended up doing a Bluebeam Revu reset. It works fine now.
I wonder if this will update the default Outlook for you @Robert Ferguson

I use the dimmer a lot when measuring things like drainage on large housing schemes. Basically, I will measure the scheme with the drawing as normal but then I'll apply the dimmer so I can do a quick scan over the site to make sure I haven't missed something - an area without any markups really does stand out rather quickly.
