Re: The future of Revu for iOS
It's been a while since we heard anything.
As an organization with hundreds of users heavily relying on Revu for iPad, mostly using Studio Projects (not sessions), we are facing a critical transition period with the announced retirement of Revu for iPad on December 31, 2025. With only six months remaining until this deadline, we’re in need of comprehensive and detailed information to adequately prepare for this launch and ensure a smooth migration for our extensive user base.
To effectively prepare our routines, training programs, and overall workflow changes, we need absolute clarity on the functional landscape of the application that will replace Revu for iOS.
Please provide an explicit list of all functionalities present in Revu for iPad that will NOT be carried over or replaced in Bluebeam Cloud by the December 31, 2025, deadline. This is crucial for us to identify potential gaps in our workflows and plan workarounds.
For existing features that are present in both Revu for iPad and Bluebeam Cloud, please detail how they are being improved in Bluebeam Cloud. For example, specific enhancements to markup tools, navigation, file management, or Studio functionality.
What are the entirely new features or capabilities being introduced in Bluebeam Cloud that were not available in Revu for iPad? This includes advancements in project management features, integrations, or collaboration tools.
We need a, feature-by-feature roadmap with estimated release dates for all promised functionalities between now and December 31, 2025. I can imagine that version 1 will not be full featured according to your roadmap.
Given the scale of our user base and the training required, we emphasize the need for guaranteed delivery dates for these features well in advance of the December 31st cut-off.
While we appreciate the recent updates on offline access for Studio Sessions and Project check-out/check-in, we need further details on the robustness and comprehensive nature of offline support. How does this compare to the full offline capabilities of Revu for iPad for locally stored PDFs?
Our ability to successfully transition our users, update our routines, and develop effective training programs hinges entirely on receiving this information and a timeline. We’d rather be prepared for what is to come than be surprised by it.
Re: Bluebeam script experts
I'm not the strongest at it.
The Scripts in Revu that I know are the very basic ones that you can find under the Help Menu in the Bluebeam Extreme Script Reference.
If you're looking more for JavaScript, like you would use in stamps and Forms, then I can direct you to others who are WAY better than I am.
Re: creation/manipulation of bluebeam tools using the btx file/code/xml structure
Hey Kyle, we might be able to help each other out on this. I saw your post on Reddit as well. These toolboxes can be edited programmatically but it's…complicated. I have written tools that work and am closing in on something I could call a product. In order to be effective with it you kind of have to do a deep dive into understanding the encoding, the bluebeam custom columns infrastructure and the PDF file format. I'm primarily focused on building out estimating tools using databases. So for example you'd create a template of a tool with custom column values and then it would populate an entire set of tools from a database.
Re: Session stuck in Revu 21.6
Hi @dlansdaal - thanks for posting in Bluebeam Community! What you’re describing sounds like a scenario that's best suited for our technical support team. Please complete this form and they’ll be more than happy to assist you!
Re: Measure length along a sloped curve with the Perimeter tool
Correct. Currently, I'm measuring the horizontal distance and elevation difference then using the Pythagorean theorem to determine the length of the slope. I use it for guardrails, handrails, ramps, etc. Pretty much everything on a slope. As a general rule, I keep any horizontal, non-sloped, sections separate from the calculations.
Tool Labels Disappeared After Update
Is there a setting to change what dialog box pops up when you hover over tools in you tool chest? Prior to the update all of my custom tools for markups would show the label that I made for them when you hovered your mouse over them. Now they only show the measurement type.
Re: 📢 What's New: Revu 21.6 (Updated)
Hi Angela, I did end up finding the toolchest updates. They are in various settings locations when clicking on the gear icons in the general toolchest pane and the individual toolchests themselves.
Re: The future of Revu for iOS
Hi Shawn,
Is there any update on what functionality in Bluebeam Cloud will be available when? With the IOS Revu ap being removed in Dec 2025 and a significant functionality gap between this and IOS Bluebeam Cloud we need some guarantee that the current functionality that is business critical for us will be provided before Revu is shutdown.
Thanks
Elizabeth
Re: I have duplicate "My Tools" chests?
Probably you stored the profile in a different folder than the default Bluebeam is using (appdata/roaming). If you move your profile there and relink to that folder from the profile settings, these duplicates will be removed and everything works as normal. Hopefully this issue will be patched out soon.
Re: I have duplicate "My Tools" chests?
Yes, this has something to do with the storage location if it is anywhere other than the default. Mine are stored in Dropbox so I'm encountering this.
I've been in contact with Bluebeam Technical Support and they are looking into this issue. No fixes yet though!
