Restore Profile when updating

I just updated to V 21.3. I was again surprised that my profile from the previous version was not restored. Why do I have to either recreate the profile, or dig in my C drive to find the profile and copy it over? It seems like you could restore the profile, copy it into the new program folder, and update it for any new program requirements. I would appreciate that very much. Joe
