Please add an applied permission level for "Deleting" Studio Projects

We recently had two projects deleted by a user (we can't track who, though, and Bluebeam couldn't tell us). This has happened to me one other time, so we try to warn our users during our training sessions.

I believe the user meant to "Remove From List" but instead chose "Delete" not realizing it would delete the entire project.

Perhaps "Deleting" the project could be a separate "Applied Permission" level? The "owner" of the project is required to give permission to restore a deleted project, but anyone can delete the project? Seems backward.

Giving the applied permission of Full Control is what allows your users to delete the project. Anyone with full control is considered an admin. These are the extra things someone with full control can do.

    • Administrators can rename the Project.
    • Administrators can delete the Project.
    • Administrators have full permissions to any folder, regardless of the folders default permissions.

Do you have any users that would need to be able to rename the project and have full permissions of any folder but not be able to delete the project? Could you give us some more details about how that could improve your workflow?

I recently had two projects (two contracts from the same site/owner) disappear. I'm assuming someone wanted to "Remove From List," and instead chose "Delete" without realizing it would delete the project for all users.

I can't say who actually deleted the project (and Bluebeam hasn't been able to tell me), but the last time this happened to me (2016-ish) I don't think the user had Full Control.

As the Org Admin and a Studio user, I personally have different permission levels for different projects. For a project that I only have user access (not admin permissions) I can still see the "Delete" option when I right-click on the project in my All Projects list. Obviously I don't want to delete any of our projects, so I didn't try it out to see if I'd get a warning. The screenshot below is me right-clicking on a project where I don't have Full Control.

This wouldn't change my workflow- I simply need projects to not disappear, and then spend two days going back and forth with Bluebeam to have them restored.

@ncampbell I was able to test this out, unless the user has Full Control, they should see this when they click delete.

It will still let them click delete, but it will deny permissions once they do so.
