Compared to words used by BB, any CMS - Content Management System or Document Management System, may look as an obvious alternative to BB, especially for the CMS version abilities such as Apache JackRabbit, Liferay, Alfresco, OpenText etc..

BB is more than CMS for sure due to mockups and civil tech domain-related toolbox, so in this context, can any share what are the closest competition for BB.

I think this is hard to answer for a couple of reasons.

    1. It really depends on what you need from your software. I have simple markup needs so Acrobat would be a competitor for me. For those in the construction side of things, Fieldwire by Hilti may be a good alternative.
    2. Many people have not considered alternatives enough to make a recommendation. We use what our company provides and don't know what else is available.
    3. And finally, you'll probably get less biased opinions if you ask this in a neutral setting like reddit or a contractor's/estimator's forum. Most of us are here because we love BB Revu and can't imagine someone wanting something else. 😉

I would encourage you to share what you need and maybe someone here can show you how BB can do that or recommend an alternative that will meet your needs. Plus, BB is actively looking for feedback on what needs to be added so your suggestions are welcome. I've already seen a few things improved based on comments from this community.

I am not sure how true these numbers are .. but seeing BB as a number 1 with 26.42% market share certainly inspirational
