General Option Preferences - Adding a default subject to markup properties
It would be really cool if in the REVU preferences general options or tools options, to be able to associate a general subject - such as "Building & Safety", or "Fire", "Planning" or "Arctitect". And if this feature could be toggled on and off for use, as some users would not want the feature.
This would allow all comments by the user to come up in the same list when running the reports. It would be very helpfull for when a department has multiple users and may not have all the markup tools formated the same way.
I have attached the cloud properties from just 3 cloud markups that all have the same line and format by default, but represent 3 differnent subjects. If someone is not paying attention, it can become confusing very quickly.
Thanks.

Is this not possible in the toolchest? For my sequences and Polygons I can set the default subject, and even when right clicking that polygon and setting as default it retains the subject
I tested this with cloud and got some mixed results…. When setting the Regular cloud as default, it retained the subject. However when setting Cloud Plus as default, it did not retain subject. I was able to add the cloud plus to the toolchest with the subject and both clouds retain this.
This may actually be a bug as the cloud+ and regular do not act the same.

@Iharned That changes the property for that single markup that can be kept in your tool box. It looks like you have some custom tools that have been configured as you need them. Go to the top menu and click > Tools > Markup > Cloud(or any other tool) and you will find that the subject is the tool name (cloud for the cloud tool).

Negative, if you right click and "Set as Default", when you either select the generic tool or use the keyboard shortcut it will have the defaults set. This can be done from a markup on the page, or a custom tool.

@Iharned , You are correct, but a person has to go into each markup and change each one to make a new default. My suggestion is to make a master menu option that automatically does it to all….

Like all the ones existing on the page? It seems like normal workflow would be to have multiple preset (it looks like your subjects are all related to specific scopes, I would assume that these defaults could apply to more than one project) in a toolchest or multiple toolchests if needed. Then when you work on "Building and Safety" you would just reach over in the toolchest and "Set as Default" and it would apply to every one that you create until you choose a new default.
If you are talking everything on the page, then you could use your markup bar to sort, select all that apply , and change their subject at the same time.
I could be way underthinking this, let me know what I'm missing.
