Re: Export e-mails from session
This will save time when we need to send e-mails to the team to get action. A lot of these sessions have large amounts of people that join over time. It would like life easier if there was a way to e-mail them, even if that's inside bluebeam like inviting to a session but sending a message. The chat feature inside the sessions is not useful but if that was expanded it could serve the same purpose.
Sort unread?
We had a lot of activity since my last check-in and I realized that we can't sort posts by "unread". We can sort by latest comment but if I read them out of order (read the bell notifications first) then the bold posts appear shuffled in with the read ones. It spilled onto the third page and I could have missed one if I wasn't careful.
All that to say - can we add "sort by unread"?
Re: Different Highlighting Colors being able to be saved into "my tools"
I'm not sure how, but I have a Highlight tool in "MyToolbox" It was just one but right-clicking allowed me to duplicate and then I just changed the color for each copy. SO it can be done. I just don't know how to get the Highlight into my toolbox if it isn't already there.
Re: Q for internal trainers! What are your preferred methods for training your staff on Bluebeam?
I much prefer leading a group of no more than 5.
I like to start with, "Ok, what are you currently doing?", then see if there's a better way. (Usually there is)
I like to ask questions, find out how they're using Revu in their daily workflows. Then look to see if we can improve the way its being used.
One of the best tips I can offer though, is tell the user to change their profile to Revu Advanced. That subtle change to the interface can actually open people's eyes to the possibilities.
Re: Q for internal trainers! What are your preferred methods for training your staff on Bluebeam?
@Aily Roper Aye, most people want to "dive right in" and learn what they "think" they need. I help everyone learn about efficient profile customization and navigation before delving into their specific workflow. Without those key basics, people won't know that certain functions exist and will get used to using the default "Revu" Profile (I find it to be inefficient, and it doesn't have the "Status Toolbar" turned on, for example, along with other things like "Save As" and the "Edit" toolbar).
I rarely mention Bluebeam University to our clients because I'd rather have them train with me first for many reasons. After our training, they sometimes ask if there are other resources available, so I share our tutorials on our website and YouTube channel first. If they want to become a Bluebeam Certified User, I guide them and let them know that the Bluebeam University exists. Most of them know this due to the BBU being mentioned in their welcome emails from Bluebeam directly. To be honest, the BBU competes with our training services, and we have no incentive to promote it.
Re: Stitching Drawings Together
Oooooooo….. I need to test the AutoAlign with this. I used to have to stich together huge mechanical drawings and it was a miserable process back in 2017 before we had Hardware Acceleration. Thank you for the find Shanoc!!
Re: Change layer color
It sounds like these are content layers, not markup layers. If you have access to the DWG's it's probably easier to change them in CAD and then recreate the PDF.
To do this in PDF you'd have to right-click and export the layer(s) to a new page and save it/them as a separate file(s).
You could then use the Overlay pages feature to create a layered PDF with layers colorized as you want. Or you could delete and add the layers back and choose a color then. Either way it's quite a few steps.
Re: Change layer color
I don't have a .dwg with layers handy, but I believe this should work.
You want to be able to select all the elements in a Layer, the easiest way to do this is via the Markups List.
1. Go to the Markups List and make sure that the Layers Column is displayed (ticked)
2. Select the Filter option so that all Markup Columns can be filtered.
3. Go to the Layer columns and set the Filter to the Layer that you want to select.
4. Once all the elements in the Markup List are filtered to just the Layer you want - on your keyboard use 'ctrl+A' (all)
5. Once all the elements are selected - go to the Properties Access Panel and change to the preferred colour.
Let me know how you go - I may need to dig around for anAutoCAD file if that doesn't work.
Change layer color
Hi, everyone. It is there any way to change the color of a layer on a PDF?
I have a plan coming from AutoCAD, and all the layers are in black. I know I can change the color of a layer in AutoCAD and send to PDF, but how can I do it after on a PDF ?
The layer properties does not have an indication of color properties.
Thanks
