Re: Using Layers?
I use layers in my training to show designers how they can see the differences in revisions. I prefer to use Layers to do this instead of the Compare tool which often times highlights differences that are not there.
For example, a drawing had ceiling tile change in size from revision 1 to revision 2. I add the two drawings, pick red for revision 1 (stop) and green for revision 2 (go). Where the drawings match it is black and the changes are way more obvious. I hope that helps :)
Re: Using Layers?
I'm using layers on 'busy' drawings to be able to turn markups on and off.
For example, on a brickwork & scaffolding take-off there will be a lot of features measured which overlap others - a dpc tray at the FFL could be exactly where the blocking lift to the scaffold is measured so one markup can obscure the other.
Using layers enables you to put all of the markups on the same drawing but still see the details when you need to.
Identify which PDFs have BB markups in a folder?
Is there a way to identify which PDF files have a BB markup in a folder?
I have approx 200 drawings in one folder to assess, some need to be 'Backcad' & upreved, most dont.
Cheers
Re: Red Clouds
These icons indicate that markups are pending upload in a Studio Session. My guess is that you are currently working offline, there is a Reconnect button in the Studio Panel, when you go back online all these markups should upload and the icons should go away.

Re: Leave Bluebeam Cloud Alone?
Same situation here. We spend a lot of work and time setting up our processes so we can use Bluebeam Cloud for our site management (especially punch management) and exactly on the day, where we wanted to teach the stuff on it this message appeared out of no where. Throwing out functionalities without a replacement and this with almost no notice isn't developing or improving a product, this only weakens the trust we had in the Bluebeam products. This seems to be kind of unprofessional and will probably lead to the question if we can trust Bluebeam enough to work with you in the future. Changes are fine and important and will always find some resistance, but be aware that this isn't just a change, this is a step back and a waste of resource for your costumers.

Re: Leave Bluebeam Cloud Alone?
Same here. We started using it when they went subscription based last year. I'm OK if they want to switch it, but they should have the replacement part of Studio Projects up and running so a transition can be made. Studio Projects doesn't have the RFI and Punch functionality built in.
The report aspect of the punch tool is (soon, was) a useful tool.
Re: Auto Save
Agree, with auto save. I believe the auto recovery currently only works if using "studio" in the meantime use a auto save software like "auotsaver" easy to adjust how often it hits "CTRL S"
@Sondra.Camis If you have a lot of docs open you can also periodically select the "save all" or "Shift F2" option to save all open files.

Re: Auto Save
Autosave is a MUST. Sometimes I have documents open and my computer reboots for an update. The program hasn't "crashed" so the document is not included in document recovery. All work is lost. Also, even though there is a "save changes" prompt when closing, people make mistakes. When I have a large number of documents open, it's easy to miss one or two that need to be saved. I realize this is all human error on my part, however I can't help but curse Revu when I lose hours of markup work for not having an autosave feature.
Re: Please add an applied permission level for "Deleting" Studio Projects
@ncampbell I was able to test this out, unless the user has Full Control, they should see this when they click delete.
It will still let them click delete, but it will deny permissions once they do so.
Re: Insert hyperlink in excel sheet with Destination in PDF
Hi Shanoc, Thank you for your answer.
It looks like I should keep markup list in PDF and have hyperlink.
What I was asked to do was kind of similar to what you explained but it's not really critical. I was asked to create a manual in PDF and have a list in Excel but I would recommend them to have a list in the same PDF as manuals.
Thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge! It was good to know there are some ways.
