Re: Revu for iPad to Retire on December 31, 2025
Sad news imo. You say it was never intended to work in an enviroment like today, yet it hasn’t received an major update for nearly a decade.
And Bluebeam Cloud has been a work in progress so long it’s embarrassing.
Don’t get me wrong. I really appreciate what you have done for PC users. But in a world with so many different devices you have a lot of work to do. And you’ve chosen to ignore them.
I have a hard time seeing Bluebeam as s player in this market anymore, meaning that this is the timeline we have to migrate from Bluebeam to Dalux, Fieldwire or something else for mobile users.
Not because we want to, but because we have to.
Re: Update on Bluebeam for Mobile - Spring 2025
@Andy Hartung, absolutely! You're right—iOS is about 9 months ahead of Android right now. Everything we're building for iOS is coming to Android too, but Android still has some catching up to do with app maturity and only 3 markups available today.
That said, Android has made great progress on offline access alongside iOS. And it’s about to get a big update for Studio Projects—starting with read-only access this quarter, then revisions, check-in/out, and local file access.
We also plan to bring back more markups in the second half of the year, with pen, highlighter, and photo as top priorities. We're growing the team and scaling our cross-platform tech to help bring these tools to all devices.
Re: Update on Bluebeam for Mobile - Spring 2025
Can you share more about updates for Android? Bluebeam Cloud for Android has been lagging behind iOS, I believe a lot of users would appreciate if the Android app was brought up to parity.
Re: Update on Bluebeam for Mobile - Spring 2025
Thank you for the update! Look forward to those improvements mentioned! Are there dates for some or all of those improvements being implemented?
Re: Revu for iPad to Retire on December 31, 2025
Hi Liz, thanks again for sharing your thoughts. Just to clarify—“Cloud” is simply the name of the app right now, not the foundation we’re tying mobile to. As I mentioned in my other reply, we’re actively working toward an offline-first mobile experience that doesn’t rely on cloud storage to be useful. We hear the need for a full-featured mobile app, and that’s exactly what we’re building.
Re: Revu for iPad to Retire on December 31, 2025
Cloud is not what people want. It doesn't have the same functionality. People want a full-fledged app for mobile.
Re: Open up More Scripting Options
I created a fillable form with checkboxes. When you select a checkbox with the form fields being active for editing, go to the Properties. At the bottom, go to Actions, then add in a JavaScript action. I basically have zero knowledge of how to write JavaScript, so I used ChatGPT to help me out :) Explained what I wanted, it helped write the basic code that I could then modify to match my settings.
With the limitation of not setting a Layer Config, I just created an instruction page on how to "reset" the checkboxes to show the proper layers.
Re: Update on Bluebeam for Mobile - Spring 2025
Hi @mark0101! Great question. Bluebeam Cloud for iOS has been available for a couple of years now and has gone through several updates. Today, it allows users to join Studio Sessions and access Studio Projects, including those they’ve been invited to. All of the improvements mentioned in the article above are coming to this app as we continue to expand its capabilities.
