Re: Cannot Change Status of Markup in a Session
As Luke posted before, the status model has to be added to a file prior to upload into a session in order to be used during a session. We use custom models so it's on our checklist of things that need to happen to files prior to being uploaded. The common workflow is saving the custom status model to the profile, set that profile current when preparing additional files to be used in the session, check to see that you could set that status to the desired state within the file and then save the PDF prior to uploading into the session.
We occasionally receive files from 3rd parties that we need to review, and to add the custom status model into those, we keep a clean pdf that just has the status models in it that we can add to other files as needed, save, remove the status page pdf, save, and the statuses will remain.
Any markup that was made on a file prior to the file being uploaded will be locked (non-editable) once loaded into a session - even to the person who made that comment, but status can still be changed, as you can with markups made by others within a session.
If you are not seeing any status available to select within a session at all, open a file (any file) outside of a session and within the markups list, go to Manage Status and in there, check on one or both of the default status models (Review and Migration). Go back to your session and you will at least have those to select from. You can't add in new models at that point, but you can at lease use the embedded ones.
Re: Revu has high memory usage
Seems high, indeed! I have never noticed any lagging due to local resources. That problem usually comes from ISP/Network/Bandwidth issues and is sporadic.
System: Windows 11 Home. 64-Bit. Intel Core i7. Running Bluebeam 21.6.
You might check to make sure your machine matches, in case something there may be out of sync with your BB Setup.
I looked into what mine is running, for comparison. 5 tabs (local) sits at ~ 830 MB.
Adding a BBStudio connection and opening a file from that kicks it up to ~1300 MB.
Couple of ideas… Have you changed settings for any kind of graphics optimization that could be funneling resources to Bluebeam? Also, have you changed priority for Bluebeam in your Task Manager?
Hope this helps get this thing working with the rest of your system.

Re: Is There a Way to Lock a Form Field?
There are several options, Lock will keep it in place and the properties will be locked but still able to be modified. Read only will keep people from modifying it. Visibility settings can hide it. Putting it on a layer and disabling, or even setting it to be off by default is a way to keep it out of the way as well. The last two options are pretty similar, in that the fields still exist, but you just can't see them unless you go into form selection mode. Personally I like the layers because I can use JavaScript to turn the layers on and off with buttons.
Revu has high memory usage
I have the Revu Complete plan. Revu is largest user of memory on my system. Right now I have 4 plans open and my memory usage is at 2,486.6 MB I seem to hover around 2,000 MB. Could there be a setting I need to change which will reduce this usage? I have some lagging in other programs. I had attemped to use Studio once to collaborate with another user in our company. I believe I have closed that out. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you
Todd
Re: 📢 What's New: Revu 21.6 (Updated)
Hi all,
We have identified the root cause and implemented a verified fix. We have released Revu 21.6, which is now available to download through the in-app installer and at bluebeam.com.
Thank you all for the posts, feedback and engagement as we resolved this issue as quickly as possible.
Re: How to attach custom properties to tools in Revu21?
Do you mean that when you apply a markup to a PDF, that same markup has Custom Column data that you can use?
If that's the case, check that your Custom Column information has come through, check the Markup List/Area.
But yes, Custom Column data will show up in the Properties of the markup once it's on the PDF. I am sure it won't show while the markup is still in the ToolChest.
To add, the Markup in the ToolChest only have Subject, Comment and Label display options.
A cool new feature is that Bluebeam has added a Search ToolChest option, so start thinking about naming conventions to speed up your markup process.
Re: Blue Beam Studio , Why cant we add layers to uploaded PDF in a set
Hi fellow Bluebeam User,
To be clear, there are two parts to Studio - Projects and Sessions. I believe that you are referring to Sessions.
Part of the rules for Studio Session is that the PDF cant be edited once its in the Session, having more flexibility is a good feature request, but what can you do today?
Have you used the Batch functions that are in the Complete version? There is a Batch Script that will allow you to add Layers to as many drawings as you need in preparation to load up into a Studio Session.
The way you do this is to create a Script that imports a "Master PDF" that contains ALL the Layers that you require, into the PDFs that you want to load up into Studio Session, then delete the Master PDF, leaving your Layers behind.
Here is the Script:
InsertPages(0,"{add in your Master PDF location here}\Master_PDF.pdf", false, false, false, true, false)
PageDelete(1)
The one true value is (please check) the option (boolean) to import the Master PDFs Layers into your PDFs that are to be uploaded into Studio Sessions.
Let me know how you go.
Re: OCR not making text searchable
I see. Well, CAD has it's SHX fonts that are different than true-type fonts. True-type fonts are the ones that naturally become searchable text in Bluebeam, but if the font used in the CAD program was an SHX font, they would need to export it as searchable text. I don't really get it, but those fonts seem to give OCR a hard time sometimes. As for the "photoshop" elements, that's why I would not skip vector pages, ensure it is detecting text in pictures and drawings, and enable page chunking at 1, so it would process each page one at a time. I think the detect vertical text option would be up to you, but I don't see any harm in asking the AI to look for it just in case it gets the orientation wrong.
Here's the setting I would expect to best handle these documents. I hope it helps…
Re: Change uploaded PDF from pending
I think pending means there is an update that needs to by synced. Are you working online? Has the PDF been checked in so that all changes sync up?
Re: Pasting Snapshots Elsewhere
I don't know if this helps, but I found what looks to be a helpful article about Teams Limitations that may or may not help troubleshoot this issue.
Below is a screenshot of a table I saw about half-way through the article. I wonder if your snapshot could be too large once Teams rasterizes the image you are trying to send.
Also, I copied a drawing that is 42x30 and it pasted just fine in both Outlook and Teams. I checked with the all-mighty Google AI and it said a troubleshooting step may be to make sure your software is updated. I did the things and simply didn't have the issues you described, but I hope something here helps.
