Re: 📢 What's New: Revu 21.6 (Updated)
Also…in the Tool Chest dropdown at the top of the Tool Chest UI, you can access a new "Manage Tool Chest Columns" modal to turn on/off Subject, Label, Comment and Layer are displayed and/or part of the collection for the Tool Chest Search.
Many estimators have requested the ability to turn off the "Comment" column when in Detail view and turn on "Layer"
You can also double-click in the Layer field and re-assign that markup to a new layer from the Tool Chest.
Re: "Batch" search + highlight
Currently, I use Nitro PDF Pro which has a feature called Search and Redact located in the Protect menu that allows me to search for a specific word and Highlight all occurrences of this word in a specific color.
This has proven extremely useful when dealing with Architectural Drawings which contains hundreds of pages, where there may be several different colors a client has selected, which will be used to paint particular rooms in an office, restaurant, retail, etc.
The limitation of Search and Redact is that in order to keep the colors showing, you must NOT proceed to Apply the redactions to the words you have highlighted. As a result, PDF Readers do not show them.
I would like to propose a Search and Highlight feature which allows me to do the same. I believe this feature will cater to many existing and new customers and add to the overall value of Bluebeam.
Re: Capture tool support for Bluebeam Cloud
second this. Our inspectors in the field are currently using iPads to take photos and embed to icons together with comments to produce field review reports. We really need this process to work on the Bluebeam Cloud app now that there is no more support for the iPad app
Re: Presentation at next BUG
Yes, @Doug McLean , let's do it!! @Juan next presenter is already lined up!!
Re: Rotate Page Idea - 45 degree
This could also just be a Rotate View option, where you can enter a set degree rotation, or select a line and have the view rotate so that line is horizontal on the screen and all markups are made orthogonal to that view until you reset it back the global view. We don't necessarily need the page itself to rotate, that's probably a limitation of a pdf file anyway to choose only between landscape/portrait, I'm assuming.
Presentation at next BUG
I'd be more than willing to do something in the next CANBUG meeting.
I'm thinking something simple, but that with a little tweak to the workflow becomes something a bit more advanced.
Spaces.
Re: What feature/tool could you talk about for hours?
For hours, Measurements.
For me, the key to understanding how to create custom tools begins with understanding how the various measurement tools function. There are so many nuances to how to use the various measurement tools that I could easily do a whole webinar on it.
What are the primary measurements that you get from each tool, what are the secondary?
What are the differences between a Perimeter and a Polylength tool?
How does the markups list read a measurement?
What happens when you right click?
What else can you add to a Count tool?
The list is kind of endless.
Re: What feature/tool could you talk about for hours?
This is tough as so many things are interlinked however, I'll say Custom Tools and more specifically the data that you can automatically collect in Markup List which can then be exported out to a csv file.
Using a combination of custom tools, columns and an Excel spreadsheet I have created workflows which make the process of tendering works not only very accurate but also extremely fast to use generally.
Creating Custom Tools correctly can really make a huge difference to productivity.
Re: Add arrow etc. to end of arc segment
If you draw a polyline and convert it to arc, then you can have an arrow at the end of a curved line. There could be a simpler solution though, so still a good suggestion.
